Mountain View CA (March 12, 2020) – Organizers of the Mountain View A la Carte & Art festival today released the following statement regarding the 2020 event:
"In light of ongoing developments resulting from the coronavirus, and after consulting with medical experts, city and county officials, the Mountain View A la Carte & Art festival is announcing today that the 2020 festival scheduled for May 2-3 has been cancelled.”
"This decision was not made lightly knowing the festival's importance as a fund-raiser for the Mountain View Chamber of Commerce and participating non-profit groups, a showcase event for artists, musicians, culinary creators and all of downtown Mountain View, and out of respect to the tireless efforts of our festival committee.”
“As the organizing committee behind a large-scale event, we are committed to protecting and keeping safe our attendees, participants, volunteers and all involved.”
“As we work through the ramifications of this difficult situation and begin to wind things down, more information will be forthcoming on processing refunds to participating constituencies.”
“We are grateful for the tremendous public support of the festival over the past 24 years and are sorry to share this unfortunate news. We look forward to returning in 2021.”
The 2021 A la Carte & Art is scheduled to take place May 1-2.
"In the bigger humanitarian picture, our good thoughts and prayers go out to all being impacted significantly by the unprecedented situation we’re experiencing. Collectively, let’s work through this and thoughtfully support each other with kindness in every way possible."
